Shopify Instagram marketing that doesn’t ask for your password

Shopify already knows your products. SL should read the public version of that knowledge. It should not ask for the admin password, and it should not scrape a path your robots.txt closes.

What a public scan can see

The homepage, the theme color, the logo files the theme exposes, an Instagram link in the footer, and product data in the page or in structured data. Many stores also publish /products.json. When robots.txt allows it, that feed is the cleanest list of titles, images, and prices.

If the feed is disallowed, we skip it and say so. A private app connection can come later, through Shopify’s own install flow — not through a password typed into a form.

From product to post

Each product becomes a set of jobs, not one post. Hero, detail, a caption that uses the body text, a Reel script with three beats. Price appears only if the feed included a price. A compare-at “sale” appears only if that field exists. We don’t draw a red sticker for drama.

When the catalog changes

Rescan when you launch a product or kill one. New public products can be added without deleting the queue. Pieces that point at a removed product should be swapped, not left to publish a 404.
